Farewell-

My inspiration to dance at a very young age, the incomparable and amazing Cyd Charisse.. She had a physicality that few female dancers of that era possessed. She could hold her own with Kelley and Astaire with the table trick and jumps and props- but had that classic elegance and technique that made her absolutely mesmerizing.. That and I love a fellow brunette with an attitude.

May she rest in peace.

See, you just had to show her dancing with Gene Kelly... Here I am trying to concentrate on her dancing, and my head keeps snapping back to that handsome man. She was graceful, beautiful, extremely emotive, and brilliant as a dancer! I am thankful that I have gotten to see her perform, that she was captured on film.

Gene is athletic and amazing in his own style, but lacked the proper height and body frame to give off the visual grace of his partner. I grew up loving that man though, and still think he is the cat's meow.

There! All the parts fell into place. Yes, yes, you've certainly got Jackie-like style, but you read to me like Cyd Charisse dances. This is true and not made up at all.

That's it. I've done my work for the day.

Cyd was amzingly fluid and graceful in her movements, and, accoring to a friend who worked for Bob Mackie, very nice and genuine in person.

Gene was a terrific dancer, but I keep starting at his butt. Don't we love classic cinema?

I hadn't heard that she had passed. I am sorry to hear it. She was an amazing dancer and very lovely. Plus, what a great name. That's one of my top five movies, by the way.

I hadn't heard that. I used to watch those old musicals with my Mom all the time. Isn't it funny, though, to see a dancer smoking?

I just didn't know.
There isn't much I can add to the spot on previous comments regarding her talent, except that she was lovely to watch.

tate- The man had a great ass, I can't blame you..I think we're all lucky to have her immortalized in film.

Booda- You are WAY too kind!

Jeff- By all accounts she was quite a lovely person. And, see note above to tate ;)

KA- She was the total package as a dancer, truly.

Billy- No doubt about it.

Citizen- well back then many did actually, counterproductive, huh?

Sling- Yep, sad to say it's true.
