The pain is so sweet.
As you well know, I too adore Emmy Lou. I've been in love with her ever since "Pieces of the Sky" was released when I was just a wee lad and she just gets better and better.

Came to Emmy Lou a bit late - around the time of the Trio album. And granny got that right - she has that bitter-sweet way with a song. Some singers go for the gut, she goes for the heart.

I like your Dorian Gray theory. And the scary thing is, having seen her in person just a few months ago, This ain't no photoshopping. She really does look like this.

Elizabeth- This is what I'm saying girl! Having seen the lady up close quite a few "backstage" times from the late 70's on- I can tell ya she just gets more beautiful.. At sixty whatever she has to be one of the most gorgeous things the planet has ever seen.. and the fact that she happens to be such a genuinely nice person and an artist of such integrity- the attic I tell you, search the attic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Her! While her voice is divine solo, she also has the knack of being able to harmonize beautifully with other singers and making them sound as wonderful as her. Quite a talent if you ask me.
Pure living? It's all I've got. (Also explains why I'm NOT going to look like that at her age).
I want to be eternally young like that. Oh, and be able to sing - that would be a nice bonus.
