Have an excellent day folks-

A blessing upon all your houses and may you enjoy your feast of choice with people you love. And my thanks for all of the virtual love and support the past week or so!

I actually won’t be cooking since some time in the 80’s- Chef Baby Sister and the Cranky Old Fart are doing the honors this year, Brother #2 is in town as well. Which will be lovely, we haven’t had a holiday together in the better part of a decade and change. Which does mean I’ll have to bite my tongue and be pleasant to his she-devil. Oh well, I can manage for a few hours with the help of a glass or four of wine. We made a deal Tater, I will behave, I swear! I'll be downright damn charming..

Well, time to bake a couple of pies, finish the appetizers and make with some breakfast so we can watch the parade.

Be well, be safe and enjoy whatever you may do today.

Happiest of Thanksgivings to you and yours Lady. And the best policy with unloveable in-laws is to just smile at them seraphically - drives them crazy. Mind you after 1 or 4 glasses of wine you may be doing that anyway!

Y- Hope you enjoyed being a brilliant guest ;)

Willym- G.R.I.T.S. are always charming dear. If presented to Satan himself I'd smile sweetly and tell him his shade of red is terribly flattering.. Some things get beaten into you from the cradle and in my case "You WILL act like a lady" was beaten in pretty hard.

tk- Me too ;) Thanks for dropping in. Hope it was a pleasant day for you as well.

Happy feast of choice day to you as well. I'm happy for you that you get to spend time with your sibs - definitely a "thankful-for" item. As for the She-devil (ha!), I'm leaning more toward the "or four" glasses.

Well sugar, we both made it through the day employing G.R.I.T.S., and weren't we just the picture of composure and grace? Mamma taught us well. Not only was bitch in law there, but she dragged the cold blooded reptile who laid her. Yes, her mother. She was all alone for Thanksgiving, and of course my mother told the B.I.L. to bring her to our gathering. It was definitely the right thing to do, and my mother once again demonstrated to all of us what an amazing woman she is. Lady with a capital L. The reptile has been nothing but cold and unpleasant to all of us since the marriage of her precious girl to our brother, and has always treated us like unwelcome guests foisted upon her, when she is forced to endure us for a family function. The irony was as delicious as the pecan pie, and she was treated like a queen and guest of honor at our get together. The crowning glory of my performance was the warm hug and peck on the cheek I delivered (to her flustered horror), with the "I am so glad you could join us today!" I could see my sister rolling her eyes like Linda Blair across the room, but I managed to supress the laugh, and stay in character.
Reptile"s reply was something along the lines of,
"Thank you for putting up with my intrusion"

Good Lord. The woman can't even say thank you without a little bitch bomb lobbed over her shoulder.

Thanksgiving was a blast, but I did discover that my sister has shared my blog address with just about everyone, and now I have no more familial privacy in blogland. Her partner said she had been enjoying my writing. I just smiled and said "thank you", and let it go. If I hold back the nasty dialogue where family members are concerned, you now know why. Hope your day was as enjoyable as mine was!

CB- I erred on the side of caution and went for the "or four"..

tater bug- well guess the old apple didn't fall far from the tree there, huh? But good for y'all for putting up with the scaly old bat and not forcing your brother in having to choose between families.. Tell your sister that just wasn't nice-
