So, is everyone having a pleasant weekend?

It was rather a lovely afternoon here yesterday, I must say.

Hope you boys in Boston are enjoying yourselves. You could have at least posted a picture or two last night, really..

Since I'm lazy I'll just resort to some pictures of Old Uncle Bob-

Hard to see, but Bob is a very big fella.. Which is why the pictures are a little fuzzy- it's a long way back to that rock wall he's playing on. And I wasn't traipsing down to request a close up. I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid people.

Poor bears- it's been so very dry, I'm afraid we're going to have an awful lot of very skinny hungry critters come spring. Very little in the way of color either this fall. I expect a lot of crashing of limbs when the ice hits..

Hope you all remembered to set your clocks so you got your extra hour of sleep! Have yourselves a lovely Sunday.

Lovely morning in LA- crisp and clear, with a bit of dew. We're finally feeling back to normal and less like God's BBQ grille. And an extra hour of sleep- sublime.

Have a happy.

how lovely to wake up and find a bear in the backyard!!

we were just in stuttgart last weekend, and there wasn't a whole lot of color there either. not much here, though we're starting to get some. rain at last. cold.

hope the bears make it through the winter.

Love the pictures.
Do not love the idea of a bear in my backyard.

Also, my word verify is: "igptszz"

which is precisely the sound I sould make if I had bears in my backyard.

Wow! I'm sure he looks a lot bigger in real life! Believe it or not, we actually had a bear (small one) walking around in my neighborhood last year. What was really hard to believe was the fools that were walking around - some with kids, some with dogs - to "get a look". This was before anybody knew how big it was. What are people thinking, sometimes?

Jeff- any time you can get an extra hour of sleep it's a fine thing!

Belle- Good to see you out and about dear. They are a hoot to watch indeed. I hope they all find a nice place to sleep before hunting season..

Hat- Simple rule- you don't screw with the bears, they don't screw with you..

Cowbell- Yep, he's a big boy, this would be why I remained on the deck ;) The smaller ones don't bother me, But I give old Bob plenty of leeway.

Somehow I can picture the scene- people really can be dumber than a bag of hammers sometimes..

Okay...I'd love to have bears milling about the property!..
Do they try to like, come on the front porch or anything?
'Cause that would be less fun.
My word verification is "karnivor"..Not really, but that would be cool.

"Dumber than a bag of hammers"....bwahhahahaaa! Boy, I have some catching up to do over here. I'm glad you haven't demanded that Bob get "removed".

I would say that it was pouring down all day Saturday, but really it was pouring sideways. I have a feeling Tate and the Farmboyz will be posting more pictures. I didn't get many good photos, mostly I was to distracted by the good company. I will be writing about it.

Glorious weekend here sunny and warm - went to a concert, dinner with friends and on Sunday we dropped into the newly reopened Foro di Trejan they've done a great job.

Mind you I miss the glorious fall colours of Ottawa - that view from the office window this time of year was always spectacular.

People are pretty f....g dumb where bears are concerned. A friend who works at Parks Canada was telling me about a woman who put honey on her son's hair so the bear would come closer and she could get a great picture... of her headless son one would assume, for the coroner's report.

And as for all these slavic sounding verification words, I'm not sure but I think bhmxl means something dirty in Polish.

My weekend was GLORIOUS. I didn't realize you were so close, I should have demanded you join us. I couldn't get any extra time off or I would have hopped an Amtrack down...

NYC?

Yikes! Only wild critter I ever get in my back yard is a squirrel, thankyouverymuch.

KA- live and let live I say ;)

Sling- as long as they don't perceive you as a food source, they mind their own business. It's the dumb asses from the city that leave dog food out, put out 50 bird feeders- and yes actually FEED them that have those sorts of problems..

Narcissist- Figure his folks were here first after all.

EG- But it looks like you boys had a brilliant time!!

Willym- the capacity of human stupidity never ceases to amaze me..

Tater baby- I'll stop sulking one of these days.. But I still wanna hear what you boys were gossiping about!!

Lorraine- you grow accustomed to the bears and foxes and coyotes and such as the years go on ;)
